SEO the missing puzzle piece to your website content

We are definitely living in the age of Google, and search engines in general.  There probably isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t check our phone or laptop to find out something.

This is exactly why SEO is key when it comes to setting your business apart from the rest, but what is SEO?  The term stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is quite self-explanatory.  It is a set of guidelines used to improve your website’s search engine rankings.

If you’re looking for anything from restaurants to an awesome chocolate recipe, you’ll go straight to Google and type in your keywords.  Once you click enter, you’ll be taken to the search engine results pages (SERPs).  Websites with awesome SEO content will be on the first SERP.

We all know that page two of Google is no man’s lands, which means that your company’s website needs to be on the first page of any search engine.  Based on this, you can see that SEO and SERP go hand in hand.

What’s so cool about being on the first SERP anyway?  Well, potential customers will find you quicker and click on your website.  This will generate organic traffic to your site and because it’s organic, you won’t have to pay for it!

Paid content marketing is very important in getting your brand and products out there, but for small businesses, it is not a long-term solution as those costs really add up.  However, organic traffic is totally free.  Also, an organic website on a SERP is more likely to get clicked than a paid ad as it seems to be more trustworthy.

The only thing constant is change, and that couldn’t be truer in the digital world.  It is important to remember that SEO is a long-term solution and because of that, your approach to it needs to be dynamic.  In addition, your online presence will greatly benefit from having a combined online marketing strategy.  This means including both paid ads and SEO-rich content.

The rewards for solid SEO content is huge!  However, it is an ongoing process.  You’ll need to put in the work and research before overhauling your website, and you’ll have to keep an eye on your organic traffic stats to see what works.  However, the results will be worth it!
